Nearly every surface is one of these two. If a decision is unclear, the answer is ink on white.
One accent, used sparingly, always meaning action or forward motion. Two values, because an accent that has to work as text needs a darker cut.
The six members of the mark, in fixed order clockwise from the top. Reserved for the mark itself, for representing participants, and for categorization. Never reorder or substitute one.
Text, rules and grounds. Slate 700 is the body text default; Slate 600 is the lightest value that carries small text on white.
At headline sizes, 24 px bold and above, 3:1 is enough. Everything smaller needs the full ratio.
Cinnabar, Oxide, Mulberry, and Slate 600 and darker. It does not pass on Patina, Copper, Brass or Slate 500.
Brass, Copper, and Slate 300 and lighter. Ink on Patina reaches only 3.97:1.
Neither white nor ink passes on these two at small sizes. Set captions beside or beneath them, never on top.
